The tomato used by La Cesenate for its own production is principally cultivated in the Mezzano Valley, in Emilia Romagna, an area particularly suitable for growing these highly fertile tomatoes. This land is rich in organic substances (containing 14% against the 1.5% normally found), making them ripen easily, to give naturally red, flavoursome tomatoes.
